Following the announcement to shut Gloucester’s GL1 Leisure Centre and Oxstalls Sports Park after charitable trust Aspire went into liquidation, Stagecoach West is offering immediate interviews to staff affected by the closures.
The bus operator would like to hear from anyone considering a career change as a bus driver.
Immediate start bus driver vacancies are available at Stagecoach West’s depot in Gloucester. Roles are on offer for both existing PCV license holders and those looking to train to be a bus driver. Those looking to gain their license will have all their training paid for (worth up to £4000) and will earn from day one.
Rachel Geliamassi, Managing Director, Stagecoach West says: “We’d love to hear from anyone affected by the redundancies at GL1 and Oxstalls Sports Park. It must be a very worrying time for all those impacted so if we’re able to help people get back to work serving their communities as a bus driver then we’d urge them to get in touch to discuss available exciting positions and training options.
“GL1 and Oxstalls staff all have excellent experience in dealing with and serving the public, two qualities we look for when recruiting. We pride ourselves on a friendly, inclusive working environment so please do get in touch if you’d like to know more about a rewarding career with us.”
Drivers working out of the Gloucester Depot receive a generous salary of £13.50 per hour (Monday to Friday), £13.65 on Saturdays and Sundays and are guaranteed a minimum of 38 hours per week with the opportunity to earn even more with overtime (an additional £1 per hour). In addition, drivers enjoy flexible shifts, a generous company pension scheme and 20 days holiday (plus Bank Holidays).
As a member of the Stagecoach West family staff, partners and up to two children receive free travel on Stagecoach buses across the country.
