Udoka Godwin-Malife has been offered a new contract at Forest Green.
The talented defender, who has been monitored by Steve Cotterill’s Shrewsbury Town, is seen as a vital cog to boss Duncan Ferguson, who looks to shape his own squad ahead of Rovers’ return to League Two.
Meanwhile, Rovers have released six members of the squad that helped the Nailsworth club into League One in the 2021/22 campaign.
A Forest Green spokesperson said: “All of our departing players have made a considerable impact during their time at FGR – and we wish them all the very best for the future and thank them for their efforts during their time at The Bolt New Lawn.
“Six of our departing players – Luke McGee, Lewis Thomas, Baily Cargill, Jordan Moore-Taylor, Regan Hendry and Ben Stevenson were members of our League Two title-winning side in the 2021/22 season. We’ll always remember the huge part they played in that historic campaign.”
Meanwhile, Oliver Casey, Brandon Cooper, Charlie Savage, Myles Peart-Harris, Tyler Onyango and Jahmari Clarke have returned to their parent clubs.
