Former Forest Green Rovers manager Steve Cotterill has been reunited with one of his former players, Charlie McCann, at Cheltenham Town.
The former Manchester United, Glasgow Rangers and Barrow midfielder joined Rovers in January 2023 for a reported £350.000 from Rangers and suffered back-to-back relegations with the Nailsworth side from League One.
He left Rovers by mutual consent in August 2025. Following his departure, he signed with League Two side Barrow in September 2025 and has now joined the Robins to be reunited with Cotterill for an undisclosed fee.
McCann, a former Manchester United youth player, amassed 90 appearances and scored 15 goals for Rovers across a two-and-a-half-year spell. He made eight appearances for Rangers after joining from Manchester United in 2021.
McCann joins former Forest Green midfielder Ben Stevenson at Whaddon Road.
