Former Stoke City and Birmingham City boss Steve Cotterill is expected to be named the new manager of Forest Green Rovers.
Talks are believed to have taken place at Dale Vince’s Ecotricity headquarters on Tuesday and Cotterill was understood to have met the players at Rovers’ Chippenham-based training ground.
The 59-year-old will become Rovers’ third manager of a troubled season, with the Nailsworth outfit facing back-to-back relegations and a drop back into non-league obscurity.
Vince has opted for Cotterill’s managerial acumen after parting company with Troy Deeney last week.
Cotterill is a known admirer of Vince and with the prospect of a new stadium on the horizon, the project is something that appeals to a manager with experience in spades having managed Sligo Rovers, Cheltenham Town, Stoke City, Portsmouth, Nottingham Forest, Burnley, Notts County, Birmingham City and more recently Shrewsbury Town.
