Reports across social media suggest Forest Green boss Steve Cotterill has left the club.

Journalist Jon Palmer, who reports on Cheltenham Town for Gloucestershire Live, has underpinned the rumours circulating around the former Bristol City and Cheltenham Town manager.

In a post on social media platform X, Palmer said: “Manager Steve Cotterill set to leave Forest Green Rovers, having led the club to the National League play-off semi-finals last season, missing out on a Wembley appearance after a penalty shoot-out defeat by Southend United.”

Palmer added that chief scout Russell Milton’s future is also in doubt.

Stroud Times understands Cotterill attended a meeting at Ecotricity in Stroud on Monday with Rovers’ top brass.

As reported first by Stroud Times, Robbie Savage was spotted in Stroud this morning with new director of football Mark Bowen, sparking speculation that the former Premier League star is in the running to replace Cotterill.

Stroud Times contacted Forest Green on Monday for comment.
