A brand-new independent haberdashery and fabric shop, The Fold, is opening its doors for a special preview event on Wednesday 12th November from 4pm to 8pm.
Founded by husband-and-wife duo Nikki Green and Adam Hinks (Good on Paper), The Fold is set to become a hub for makers, menders, and textile enthusiasts in Stroud.
Located at 24 George Street, next to Independent Sound Records, The Fold offers a carefully curated range of fabrics, sewing notions, threads, and tools to inspire creativity. Community engagement is at the heart of the shop, which has already launched a stitch community project and has plans for workshops, creative gatherings, and other events in the coming months.
The preview event provides an opportunity for the public to explore the shop, meet the founders, and get a first look at its offerings ahead of the official opening.
Nikki Green, co-founder, said: “I studied Fashion Design at university in Birmingham and have been Head of Art at a local school for over 14 years. With our children now a little older, I felt it was time to return to my creative roots and start a new adventure with my partner. I feel very lucky to be opening a vibrant new haberdashery in a town with such a rich textile heritage. I hope The Fold becomes a place where the textile community can come together, share their projects, and be part of Stroud’s brilliant creative scene.”
