An exhibition of work by three Stroud artists will be on display at The Subscription Rooms this month. Wanderings features paintings and prints by Lucy Inder, Teresa Poole and Susie Walker.
Lucy has always loved colour, developing her practice using photography, collage, stitching, drawing and painting and now digital techniques. All this alongside a long career as a secondary school art teacher. Having left teaching Lucy has recently been focusing on developing her painting, celebrating her love of walking in the local landscape. She uses tasty colour combinations with evocative patchwork shapes in a vibrant, expressive style.

Teresa is a decorative artist specialising in oriental and Japanese-inspired art. She trained as a painter with renowned interior designer Thomas Messel in the 1980s and takes these traditional techniques into her work as an artist. She has worked extensively internationally and is known for her eclectic mixed media painting and photography and expresses glimpses of the beauty found in unusual places using imagery from memories and dreams.
Susie works as a community artist and has recently started to explore printmaking techniques with a particular focus on linocuts. Her work is inspired by the industrial landscape, by the everyday and the mundane, she is exploring the process and is currently using a bold, graphic style in her work.

Wanderings is on at The Sub Rooms, George St, Stroud starting 5-7pm Friday September 17th and open 10-6pm Saturday and Sunday, 10-5pm weekdays until Sunday September 26th as part of the Stroud Valley Artspace SITE21 Festival.
