Stroud Camera Club snaps up top award in regional competition

MOST READ

As a member of the Western Counties Photographic Federation, Stroud Camera Club has just competed in two regional inter-club competitions – one for digitally projected images and one for prints.

Each of the region’s 100+ clubs were invited to submit 18 digital images and 15 prints to be scored by a panel of three judges. The aggregate score for all images determined the final club ranking with some additional awards for outstanding individual images.

Despite a very high standard of photography across the board Stroud Camera Club achieved its best ever finish in the digitally-projected section with a 5th place (of over 40 clubs that entered) and an individual award for excellence, a Judges’ Ribbon, for Trish Bloodworth’s Faithful Friends.

The print section was rather more challenging for a club with few members routinely entering prints into competition – a 23rd= place which was very similar to when the Club last entered this competition. Overall, the result demonstrated that Stroud Camera Club is one of the top photographic clubs in the South West.
