Stroud & District Chamber of Trade & Commerce have launched their 2023 Staycation Campaign to attract more tourists for short and medium stays to the Stroud District.

The campaign, which will be run across social media channels and in TLM’s The Staycation, introduces potential visitors to the diverse range of activities available across the District.

Tony Davey, Chair of the Chamber and Vice Chair of the Stroud District Tourism Forum, said: “The Stroud District has something to offer every visitor, from breathtaking scenery and a fascinating past to discover, to excellent family experiences and outstanding independent and boutique shopping. There are truly unique experiences to be had, with accommodation options to fit most budgets and food for every palate. All too often we find Gloucestershire being hidden as just part of the Cotswolds; whilst we are proud to be part of the Cotswolds, the Stroud District has many unique activities to offer and our diversity means we stand as a destination in our own right.”

Award winning markets, outstanding independent shops, canal walks, countryside excursions, historic buildings and monuments, authentic festivals for almost every theme and genre, with something for everyone young and old, the Stroud District offers it all.

“Through our established VisitStroud.uk platform, it’s easy for potential visitors to tailor the perfect itinerary and ensure they get the most from their stay. If you’re in the know, the District is already a popular holiday destination for travellers across the UK, Europe and the world. We’re looking forward to 2023 being huge for staycations and introducing more travellers to everything on offer here, which also helps our local economy and especially our hospitality industry, who are still fighting to recover from the impacts of the pandemic and current economic crisis. Across our members we know how important tourism is to their business, so this is an essential investment.”
