A special reception was held at the Subscription Rooms to thank the many people of Stroud who make it such a strong vibrant community.
Hosted by the Mayor of Stroud, Councillor Kevin Cranston, it was attended by 125 including people working in NHS, the police, the ambulance service, local charities, community groups and business people.
Kevin, who is standing down as Mayor, said: “It was really lovely to be able to thank some of the many wonderful people who helped make Stroud the special quirky, and brilliant place that it is.
“It is the strong community bonds that make the town different to many other less fortunate places. As Mayor, I tried to invite a broad cross-section from the worlds of public services, community groups, arts, culture, sports, politics, business plus a few people who have helped to keep me motivated as Mayor.”
