Stroud Library of Things (SLOTH), a community-driven initiative, is excited to announce the launch of its crowdfunding campaign to raise £6,000. This funding will be used to set up the library, ready to launch to the public in the Spring.
SLOTH aims to become a valuable resource for the Stroud community by providing a sustainable way to access a wide range of DIY tools and gardening tools, and household equipment. By sharing these items, SLOTH will empower individuals to reduce waste, save money, and help the environment impact.
Nick Turner, SLOTH project volunteer from Creative Sustainability – the organisation which will be managing the project said: “The SLOTH project will make access to various tools and equipment affordable and reduce the environmental impact of people buying stuff they only need once a year. Let’s share rather than shop!”
“Any donation of £20 or more will earn the donor their first year’s membership, with other membership levels available when we launch. We are also looking for people to donate items on our wishlist, and for volunteers to help out in the library, maintain and repair tools, and help organise the back-office processes.”
