Stroud MP Siobhan Baillie is keen to hold talks with new Prime Minister Liz Truss on what can be done to help constituents and business people during these challenging economic times.
The former foreign secretary beat her rival Rishi Sunak to win the Conservative leadership race on Monday and will replace Boris Johnson in Number 10.
Ms Baillie said: “Many congratulations to Liz Truss on becoming our new leader and Prime Minister.
“She has an urgent inbox pending around the cost-of-living and energy prices, the NHS and the war in Ukraine. It will be a tough job and she has my full support.
“Liz is experienced and talented and it is great we have now had three Conservative female Prime Ministers. She knows she needs to deliver on key issues quickly in what are challenging times for all of us.
“I will be seeking a meeting with her and her new ministers in the near future to talk about the situation in Stroud and what can be done to help people and businesses here in the tough months to come.”
