She has many strings to her career bow and is a self-employed hairdresser, massage therapist and pole instructor.

We put Lucy under the spotlight.

When are you at your happiest?

With dogs. Dogs will, without fail, make everything 100% better. Sad? Dog. Joyful? Dog. There’s no moment so great or bad, that it can’t be improved with a dog.

What has been the scariest moment in your life?

Getting into recovery. I had lived daily life with substances since I was a teen, and it was terrifying to take that away and face life raw, without something to soften and blur the edges. The scariest moment of my life has now turned my life into something I only wildly dreamed possible. This has shown me the importance of taking risks and getting out of my comfort zone!

What has been your biggest disappointment?

I’ve pondered over this question for a while, but I don’t think I have one. I have moments of disappointment, sure- I’m human. But I soon return to a place of belief that everything happens as it should. Often shortly after disappointment, comes something greater than I had hoped for initially. Even my greatest pain has been transformed into a thing of beauty, so with any disappointment comes the opportunity to learn, grow and trust. So then it can no longer be classed a disappointment.

What is your guiltiest pleasure?

Dinner from The Big Fish on Nelson Street and watching detective shows with my bestie. Perfection.

Who is the most famous person in your phone?

My friend Jennah who is a phenomenonal singer. She’s yet to be world famous, but without doubt she will be, and when she is, she’ll be my claim to fame!

What is your favourite smell?

Freshly ground coffee

Who would play you in a film about your life?

Myself! In the words of Dr. Seuss: “Today, you are you. That’s truer than true. There’s no one alive that’s you-er than you!”

What do you like most about living in the Stroud area?

The community. It seems a rarity to find such a community feel in an area these days, but Stroud has it in abundance.

I love that when I walk around town with rainbow hair and neon tie dye, this is normal. Nothing is too wild or quirky for Stroud. The amount of independent shops, unusual for most areas that are flooded with chain stores. Also the beautiful nature that surrounds Stroud any direction you go.

What is your ideal weekend?

A festival or weekend get away.

What is on your bucket list?

Sky diving, scuba diving, surfing, write a book, achieving box splits, multiple travel destinations

What is the most important lesson life has taught you?

You are never too old and it’s never too late to change. While we still have breath in our lungs, we can chase dreams. Freedom is worth working for.

What book and song would you take with you if stranded on an uninhabited island?

You can heal your life by Louise Hay

Good riddance by American band Green Day.
