Stroud Valleys Project recently hit the headlines after planting 19,139 trees across Stroud district – and the people-powered conservation charity is planning to celebrate that and their other achievements at a fundraising evening at Stroud Brewery on Saturday, May 24.
Stroud Valleys PARTY stars some of the area’s leading musical lights, and everyone is welcome, whether you’re one of SVP’s army of local volunteers, a supporter… or even if you’ve never heard of Stroud Valleys Project and just love live music.
Acts appearing are popular local duo the Peekies, regulars on the folk festival circuit; fine singing and musical ensemble Willow, who will be appearing as a duo; sea shanty singer Jamie Robinson and banjo maestro Thomas Owen, fresh from his appearance at the Gloucester Folk Trail. Host for the evening is Kate Tyler, who is well known both as a singer and a dancer. Tickets are just £10, or £12 on the door.
“It’s going to be a brilliant, upbeat community event,” explained SVP’s Kerri Tyler. “We’re really looking forward to a night of great music and a chance to get together and feel good about the wonderful things happening across our district.
“There will also be a chance for find out more about gardening for nature, as part of Gloucestershire Biodiversity Week.”
