The Electric Bike Shop in John Street, Stroud, closed its doors for the final time today.
In a statement on its social media channels The Electric Bike Shop stated: “The Electric Bike Shop Stroud will officially close its doors as of today, May 18th. But don’t worry we have expanded our presence in Gloucester, partnering with Cube Stores UK to bring you an even wider selection of bikes (both electric and non electric) plus cycling accessories and clothing from CUBE.
“Don’t worry as we are only 7 miles away, please come and visit us at our newly expanded Gloucester Store at Dobbies Garden Centre, Bath Road, Gloucester, GL10 3DP.
“The best part is that you’ll still find the same friendly and expert team members from our Stroud store in Gloucester location. We are committed to providing you with exceptional service and expertise, just as we have done over the past 6 years in Stroud.”
One former customer told Stroud Times: “It came as a shock to me. Sad to see it leave town. Great guys working there.”
The bike shop had an official reopening in November last year and sold electric-assisted bicycles ranging from commuter bikes, mountain bikes and even cargo bikes, some of which commanded a price tag of more than £8,000.
