LCS Cheerleading celebrated a landmark moment, making its debut at the UKCA Nationals in Manchester.

The club brought 48 athletes from Stroud and surrounding areas to compete on the national stage, delivering a day filled with exceptional performances and team spirit.

Competing against clubs from across the UK, LCS teams achieved:

  • Ignite – 2nd place
  • Blaze – 2nd place
  • Flame – 6th place (the youngest team in their category)
  • Act of Kindness Award
  • Spirit Award Winners

For many athletes, this marked not only their first national competition but their very first competitive experience. Despite this, they performed with confidence, teamwork, and determination.

The Spirit Award, in particular, holds special significance. Unlike placement-based awards, it recognises attitude, sportsmanship, and the energy a club brings throughout the event -highlighting support for fellow teams, positivity, and club representation both on and off the mat. Receiving this award at their first Nationals is a testament to the character and values cultivated at LCS.

Months of hard work, resilience, and dedication, along with unwavering support from families and the local community, have paved the way to this success. As a grassroots club, LCS takes pride in representing Stroud and offering young people opportunities to develop confidence, skill, and teamwork.

Parents were full of praise: “My daughter, Izzy, has been part of the LCS family for 10 years, and it has been amazing to watch her grow. Performing at Nationals was the culmination of all her hard work, and she smashed her routines in front of the crowd. Well done (and thank you) LCS.”

“Beth is incredible, and this team has been amazing. It was Ava’s first time competing, and they completely blew us away. She’s grown from a shy, timid girl into someone full of confidence who truly loves every moment.”

Athletes shared their excitement: “I loved competing at Nationals—it was the perfect opportunity to show the amazing effort we’ve put into training. LCS is a wonderful club to be a part of -I love it!”

“This was my first ever cheer competition, and the atmosphere at Nationals was incredible. Everyone was so supportive and made me feel like I could do it! Team Flame did an awesome routine—the best we’ve ever done. I’m loving being part of LCS and can’t wait for the next competition!”

Looking ahead, LCS Cheerleading is excited to continue building on this success and inspiring young athletes throughout the Stroud community.
