Molly Scott Cato, former Green Party MEP for South West England, Stroud District Councillor and parliamentary candidate, has been elected as senior vice-chair of the European Movement, an organisation that campaigns against the ‘failure’ that is Brexit and that aims to rebuild the UK’s relationship with the EU, writes Sue Fenton.
Molly said: “Empty shelves, empty pumps, empty pockets. Brexit isn’t working. I will help to build the evidence of Brexit’s failure and take it to the people of the UK, making the case for rebuilding our close relationship with Europe.”
The European Movement is rapidly expanding its membership and building a strong base among people who still value their identity as proud Europeans.
Molly added: “We are proud of how far we’ve come, but we cannot stop here. We must grow bigger and faster to transform this country and our relationship with the rest of Europe. Our members from all walks of life – all proud to be European – can be the tide that sweeps this incompetent and uncaring hard Brexit project out of power. We can win justice on the issues we fight on – from trade and the environment, to citizens’ rights and Erasmus+, and so much more.”
