Stroud Camera Club held their annual Nature Photography Competition last week.

The competition judge was Peter McCloskey from Bristol, a past President of the Western Counties Photographic Federation and a fine photographer in his own right, making him very well qualified to judge the many fine images on show. As always, the competition was divided into Print Images (prints) and Digitally Projected Images (DPI).

Winner of the DPI section was Derrick Whitmore with 20 points for his great photo, Puffin Pair. Runners up in the DPI section, each scoring 19 points were René Cason with Kingfisher Dive, Malcolm Marner with Red Squirrel and Nigel Bowsher with Sparrowhawk.

Winner of the Print section with 20 points was Richard Atkinson’s Flamingo – Next Generation. Runners-up were Leslie Holmes who scored 19 points for her Arctic Fox: Blue Morph and Roger Matthews with 18 points for his Blue-winged Kookaburra.
