The Orangery at Siddington Park is billed as one of Cirencester’s most popular destination restaurants.

Nestled within the heart of Siddington Park retirement village, inside the Pavilion, is open to the public and offers a serene ambiance with feature glazing that opens onto a sunny south-facing terrace and beautifully landscaped gardens. Whether dining indoors or al fresco, guests can enjoy the charm of our restaurant and bar, making it an ideal setting for any occasion.

The varied menus are meticulously crafted by esteemed Head Chef, Danijel Furjan. With a distinguished career that includes tenures at Michelin-starred establishments and renowned Cotswolds venues such as Barnsley House and Lords of the Manor, Chef Furjan brings a wealth of culinary expertise to the kitchen.

The Orangery is open for lunch daily and dinner on Fridays and Saturdays.  There is also a Private Dining Room that can be booked for private parties, meetings and conferences.

The restaurant is very family friendly, with a dedicated menu for children, and offers free onsite parking.

What we devoured

Azouz our charming host, for our Sunday roast had only been in his new post for a month, but his knowledge and enthusiasm was palpable. He ushered us to a table and had no problem at all with us being slightly earlier than expected.

For starters we ordered beef brisket croquette and twice baked cheese soufflé.

They arrived promptly and beautifully presented. The souffle was light and creamy.  The brisket, threads of beef,  in a round croquette, on a bed of tarragon mayonnaise and watercress was mouthwatering.  We were both very happy.

The Sunday lunch was divine to look at. The beef was medium rare, and so tender, cushioned on perfectly cooked parsnips, carrots, crisp roast potatoes and a side of cauliflower cheese. On top a crunchy light Yorkshire pudding. All surrounded with the complimenting finish of red wine gravy.

Roasted pork loin

I opted for pork and it was three pieces all adorned with a crunchy crackling rind. It really was a truly sumptuous Sunday lunch.

When choosing our desserts we were highly recommended the crème brûlée.

My partner obeyed and ordered that – she gasped with delight. I picked the milk chocolate marquise with honey comb ice cream – on the money.

Judging from her reaction, the brûlée was the showstopper. She remarked on how crunchy the outer layer was decorated with a rhubarb stick -a perfect combination of crunch and rhubarb.

Mine was chocolate heaven, decadent and drizzled with ample honeycomb ice-cream.

The chef has really done the best job here. The food is five-star. Absolutely worth going to for flavoursome and conscientious Sunday roasts.

Don’t be put off by the retirement village surroundings. If you want a good Sunday lunch then it’s worth a visit. A restaurant that stands out on its own and a Sunday lunch that stands out on its own – memorable to say the least.

 Compliments to the chef.
