Stroud-based Allsorts charity’s mission is for children and young people with additional needs to have a choice of meaningful and accessible opportunities and for their whole families to feel supported and included.
Allsorts deliver this through a vast schedule of fun activities, family trips and support groups providing: Sport, exercise and movement sessions; Young adult social groups and work experience; Whole family activities; Holiday clubs; Parent and carer support and information.
During the last 12 months, 712 members attended an Allsorts activity supported by the Allsorts team.
These events wouldn’t be able to happen without the dedicated work of our team of Support Workers who in the last 12 months provided 4,000 hours of support. Their commitment to Allsorts is amazing.
This Christmas Allsorts is highlighting these wonderful people in the Christmas Fundraising Campaign.
Becca, Allsorts support worker, said: “For me one of the greatest joys is seeing friendships form between members, where they can share experiences, offer advice, support one another and know they are totally understood and not being judged. Helping to support our Young Adults to gain confidence, independence and learn new skills whilst having fun with their friends is equally heart-warming.”
Adrienne, Allsorts member, added: “We found Allsorts many years ago, it had been amazing as there are limited activities Eva can take part in due to her disability. What we love about Allsorts is that our children have been able to have fun together. They have been on trips, been sailing and bowling and so much more. The support workers are so valuable to help out on these trips. They have helped with Amy, Jake and Rory as well as Eva. I never felt nervous taking them all out together as I always knew the support was available.”
Here’s how a gift from you this Christmas could make a huge impact and enable us to plan our 2023 programme with confidence.
