Often it can be difficult to decide on the best gift ideas at Christmas, so the Stroud & District Chamber of Trade & Commerce has created a Christmas Shopping Guide for Stroud Town to help, writes Tony Davey.
You can access it at VisitStroud.uk/Christmas and browse the 60+ businesses who came forward to be in the guide, including some great venues to eat and drink at too.
“Our message this Christmas is to shop earlier if you can,” said Tony Davey, Chairman of the Stroud & District Chamber of Trade & Commerce.
“This helps both ensure availability and spread the load a bit. The guide is designed to help you discover some amazing and diverse businesses across the town and think if they may have the perfect gift for you. This also helps promote buying local and all the benefits that buying local brings to our local economy, which needs a boost after such a challenging 18 months.”
With sections for books, music, fashion, food home style and vintage, plus links to the VisitStroud.uk directory for more details of the businesses listed, it is hoped that the Guide will be the first of many to boost awareness of local high street businesses.
The Stroud Pumpkin Trail also starts this Saturday with 14 pumpkins to find across the town centre.
Go to VisitStroud.uk/Pumpkin to download the map, then look out for the posters in the participating businesses. It coincides with the start of this weekend’s Five Valleys Shopping Centre Stroud Social event and continues until October 31st.
