The Wings and Wheels Society Dursley has announced its next meeting, set to take place at the Dursley Community Centre (GL11 4BX) on Thursday, December 11th at 8 PM. The highlight of the evening will be a newly researched illustrated talk by Paul Barnett, Maritime Historian, titled “The Story of Undercover RAF Saul.”

Mr Barnett’s presentation will delve into the fascinating history of the port of Saul, which, in 1943, became a maintenance facility for RAF whaleback high-speed motor launches. The talk promises to shed light on how and why Saul and its requisitioned boathouse played a crucial role during World War II.

The event is open to all enthusiasts of aviation, rail, road, and sea. Admission is £5 at the door. For further information, contact wingsteam@debsillustration.co.uk, visit the society’s website at http://www.wingsandwheelssociety.org.uk
