Stroud-based modern folk duo The Peekies have recently launched their second studio album.
Christina Snell and Chris Fry launched their album Brief Melodic Cheer at Stroud Brewery. The launch event was attended by more than 60 people and the proceeds of all CDs sold on the day went to Stroud Women’s Refuge. There was even a fabulous celebratory cake made by local baker Jul’s Cakes.
The album, recorded and produced by Paul Bryant at South Tythe Studios in Bisley, features songs written and performed by the duo, including one about Stroud’s resident busker, Clover. They are accompanied by a host of local musicians, including talented saxophonist Patsy Gamble, the amazing fiddle and mandolin skills of Sam Draper and electric guitar by Sam Cordery of The Strays. The album can be streamed or downloaded from all the major platforms or you can contact The Peekies via their website
