Great Western Railway services between Swindon and Gloucester will be affected by essential track maintenance in the Kemble area next week.
As a result, there will be no direct trains between London Paddington and Cheltenham Spa from Monday 21 to Thursday 24 August.
- Customers can travel between Swindon and Gloucester/Cheltenham Spa via Bristol Parkway
- No trains can stop at Kemble, Stroud or Stonehouse stations
- Buses will replace trains to/from all stations affected
GWR’s Station Manager for South Cotswolds, Ben Scott, said: “This work is part of an ongoing programme that will enable us to maintain services for customers travelling to or from Gloucestershire.
“We’ll provide alternative road transport and work with other train companies to ensure customers can still complete their journeys during this time.”

Network Rail Infrastructure Manager, Jonathan Skirton, said: “Our teams need to maintain vegetation and drainage near to the railway to keep the tracks safe.
“We’re sorry for the disruption to trains but this work will ensure journeys are more reliable for years to come.”
