Police are appealing for witnesses following a single-vehicle collision in Stroud at the weekend.

The incident happened in Cainscross Road at around 11.20pm on Saturday when a white Hyundai Tucson collided with the central reservation outside Stroud High School, where a pedestrian had been walking.

The pedestrian was uninjured. Two women then exited the car, and are reported as verbally abusing the pedestrian before one attempted to assault him. A man in the car fled the scene.

A 30-year-old woman from Stroud and a 26-year-old woman from Hampshire were arrested on suspicion of assault and have been released under investigation.

Officers are keen to speak to anybody who may have witnessed the collision, or the events leading up to it, who have not already spoken to police. They would also like anyone with relevant dash-cam footage to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Gloucestershire Constabulary through the website, quoting incident 488 of 2 July: https://www.gloucestershire.police.uk/contact/af/contact-us/us/a-crime-that-has-already-been-reported/
