The Amberley Cow Hunt proved a resounding success this weekend, drawing hundreds of families from near and far to enjoy a joyful community celebration.
Held on Saturday and Sunday from 1–5pm, the event invited visitors to follow a trail winding through the village and across Minchinhampton Common in search of 41 imaginative and beautifully decorated cows.
Each creation was uniquely designed by families from Amberley Primary School, adding a personal and creative touch to the experience. A shorter trail ensured that even the youngest participants could join in the fun.

At the end of the hunt, visitors were warmly welcomed at the ever-popular tea tent, where people of all ages enjoyed thousands of slices of home-baked cakes, served alongside tea in charming vintage china. The atmosphere was further enhanced by performances from the school choir and a lively cow-themed craft tent.
While final fundraising totals are still being confirmed, the event has already raised thousands of pounds in support of the school and other local community groups.
Organisers extend heartfelt thanks to the school staff and families—past and present—as well as local residents, corporate sponsors, and everyone who contributed to making the event such a success. This year’s event was also supported by volunteers from Amberley Scout Group, Amberley Shop on the Common, and Amberley Playgroup.
