An elegant vintage Rolls-Royce – with a famous first owner – is set to go under the hammer at a forthcoming sale at Wotton Auction Rooms.
The 1972 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow will feature in the sale on Thursday, October 3rd – and might be more affordable than you think.
Managing Director and Auctioneer, Joseph Trinder told Stroud Times: “The car’s first owner was Lord Lew Grade, media impresario, television pioneer and the man responsible for bringing The Muppet Show to the UK in the 1970s.
“We’ve got a full owner service history, and it has been really looked after by a consecutive list of owners, and it’s remarkable that she has only covered something like 84,000 miles in her 52 years.
“We’re estimating the car at £8,000 to £12,000 and is offered for sale at very approachable money.”
Just over 30,000 Silver Shadows were produced between 1965 and 1980 and would set you back £6,557 in 1966 – the equivalent of around £160,000 in 2024.
Details of the forthcoming sale can be found here.
