Video: today’s partial solar eclipse

Despite a cloudy sky, today’s partial solar eclipse was visible in Gloucestershire.

Caused by the moon passing between the sun and the earth, the partial eclipse took place between around 10am and 11.45am. The east of the UK provided the best view, though it was visible across the UK.
