Village bonfire night celebrations set to return

MOST READ

Bisley’s much-loved bonfire night celebrations are back after a hiatus of six years.

For decades, the event near Stroud was one of the best attended in the Cotswolds, but it came to a stop just before the Covid pandemic.

Now it has been reborn as The Big Bisley Bonfire Night Bash.

Held at King George V Playing Fields and run by the village’s Community Group, the gates will open at 5.30pm, and there will be plenty of chance to get a drink, a burger, or a dish of chilli before the guy competition is judged at 6pm.

The bonfire will be lit shortly afterwards, with fireworks scheduled to start at 7pm.

Sweet treats and glow toys will be available, too.

Lower-priced ‘early bird’ tickets – adults are £8, children aged 5-17 are £4, under-5s are free, and a group of two adults +2 5-17s is £18 – are now available at www.ticketsource.co.uk
