Police are warning members of the public to be vigilant when using ATMs after card cloning devices were found in Brockworth and Cheltenham.
Card skimming is when devices are installed at ATMs which fraudsters use to steal bank card details and PIN numbers, putting users at risk of fraud and financial theft.
It was reported that a member of the public had seen a group of men in a car acting suspiciously around an ATM on Court Road in Brockworth.
The group were seen to loiter around the ATM and return immediately to it after people had used it.
Officers attended and found cloning devices fitted to the ATM. Enquiries were conducted around the vehicle and the car being used by the men was located and stopped.
The vehicle was searched and officers found cash, a cloning device and blank bank cards. Two men, aged 29 and 36, were subsequently arrested on suspicion of possessing an article for use in fraud.
They remain in police custody at this time pending further enquiries.
Cloning devices were also found at an ATM on London Road in Charlton Kings, Cheltenham and it is believed that the men may have been travelling around Gloucestershire.
