Manchester United teenager Charlie Savage scored his first career senior goal for loan club Forest Green in their League One clash with Bristol Rovers, leaving the biggest cheer to come from his proud dad, watching on in a television studio.
Savage junior fizzed home on 12 minutes to give Forest Green the lead. However the joy for Duncan Ferguson’s side was quickly tempered with Rovers losing 3-1 to Joey Barton’s side.
Meanwhile, the happiest dad on another damming day for the bottom of the table side was Robbie Savage who let out a huge cheer live on BT Sport Score when he learnt that his son had scored. After producing a massive ‘Yes!’, the former Derby and Blackburn midfielder – added, “My boy has scored! Go on my boy!” while punching the air.
“I’m proud of him and emotional,” continued Savage.
