Stroud couple Louise Ashcroft and John Sparey have starred on TikTok after coming to the rescue of a motorist in Bath.

They were stopped outside the five-star Francis Hotel in the city centre and asked: “Have you seen my car?”.

Louise who lives in Uplands, Stroud, said: “Is it that one?” pointing to a Kia car wedged between the hotel wall and a basement wall, on its side and badly damaged. The car’s owner was actually a 19-year-old, later charged with a motoring offence.

And the man who asked for help? He was simply making light of the fallen car. Louise said: “I was just pleased to help.”

The car was pulled out on Wednesday morning, nearly four days after the accident
