UPDATED: What does the future hold for Tricorn House?

Tricorn House isn’t up for sale, the Stroud Times understands.

In December, reports suggested the derelict building was on the market after a meeting between Siobhan Baillie MP, the present owner John Wellfair and Stroud District Council chief executive Kathy O’Leary.

However, sources close to Stroud Times have indicated the building is currently off the market.

A Stroud District Council spokesperson said: “SDC recognises the enormous strength of feeling over this issue, which is why we are continuing to stand with the community in calling for the owner to develop the site. Responsibility sits squarely with the owner and we are extremely disappointed at his failure to make progress.

“We have granted permission for several development schemes of Tricorn House over the years but the owner has not actioned any of them. This cannot continue.

“Any sale is a matter for the owner and prospective purchaser but we would be happy to assist in this process where possible.”

Stroud Times has contacted Siobhan Baillie for comment.
