Longfield Community Hospice has launched its annual winter raffle, with a top prize of £1,000 cash on offer. Other prizes include an overnight stay at the luxurious Burleigh Court Hotel and shopping vouchers worth £100.

Raffle tickets are available in all of Longfield’s 20 charity shops or online at longfield.org.uk/winter-raffle.

All profits from the raffle will fund the hospice’s vital work helping patients, families and carers across Gloucestershire through the winter.

Eileen’s husband, Silvio, was cared for by Longfield in the last weeks of his life, making his wish to die at home possible. Eileen said: “Like many people, Silvio hated hospitals and wanted to be cared for at home. When the Longfield team came in, it was a huge relief.”

Longfield’s care meant that Silvio could enjoy his last Christmas at home surrounded by his extended family. Eileen added: “Christmas has always been a big deal for us and I’d say it was a Christmas to remember. What Longfield does is indispensable.”

Longfield’s Head of Fundraising and Marketing, Rachel Jones said: “Please play our winter raffle this year – there are some amazing prizes on offer! By supporting the raffle, you will be helping adults in Gloucestershire with life-limiting conditions live as well as possible from diagnosis onwards.

We offer a range of services for patients, carers and families at our Wellbeing Centre in Minchinhampton. We also help patients at the end of their lives get the care they need to die at home, surrounded by people they love.”

To purchase tickets, go online at longfield.org.uk/winter-raffle or call the Fundraising Team on 01453 886868. Each ticket costs £1, players must be resident in Great Britain and over 18 to enter. Tickets returned by Friday 17 December can enter the Early Bird prize draw to win shopping vouchers worth £100.
