Kingswood Women’s Football Club is looking to recruit more players, ready for the new season.

The team finished seventh out of 13 last season in the Gloucestershire County Women’s League division three, and are setting their sights on promotion in the next few years.

Club Chairman Ben Foxwell says that no matter what your ability, new players will be made welcome.

“Girls need to be 16 by the end of the year really, as you can train when you’re 15 but only sign on when 16, and there is a cut-off early next year,” explained Ben.

The team, formed in 2021, is managed by Tyler Hopkins and assistant manager Stef Boggis.

“We are the only girls’ team in the immediate area, the closest club is probably Dursley. We train every Wednesday at Kingswood Village Hall, GL12 8RF, 7-8.30pm, with league matches played at 2pm on Sundays.

“We’re a very welcoming and friendly bunch, and training is always very relaxed and social, so would encourage anyone to drop us a message first just to confirm training is on etc. Alternatively feel free to turn up,” added Ben.
