Work to refurbish railings on Hunters Way in Cashes Green is now underway after Stroud MP Siobhan Baillie contacted the county council asking for action.
Scaffolding is now up on the structure, which was rusty and in need of maintenance. The work is expected to be finished by the end of the month and the railings will once again be spic and span.
“Many thanks to the county council for listening to my concerns about the railings and springing into action,” said Siobhan.
“Local people and the parish council were fed up about the state of them and there were concerns young children might get injured from the rusty paintwork.
“This is a good example of local people taking pride in their area and working together to fix a problem. It’s important the council decided to undertake this maintenance and the newly refurbished railings will make a difference.”
