A last-gasp penalty save from Shortwood United keeper Joe Wright proved the key moment as the Nailsworth side gained the derby day bragging rights over Stonehouse Town at Oldends Lane.
Wright got down well to deny former Shortwood midfielder Nick Humphreys with three minutes to go. Already 1-0 up through Martin Smith, Wood sealed the game as sub Keegan Bowes finished with aplomb from a Dan Gayner assist, leaving Marcus Foxwell’s side cemented in the play-off spots.
