Longfield Community Hospice is inviting people to pull on their walking boots and raise a glass at the Ale Amble, on Saturday 21 February, from 11.30am to 3.30pm.
Starting and finishing at the much-loved Stroud Brewery, this four-mile circular walk combines breathtaking countryside views, gentle exercise, excellent local ale and the opportunity to watch a Six Nations rugby match live on the big screen.

On the day, registration opens at 11.30am and closes at 12.30pm, allowing walkers to set off at their own pace. Participants will walk a four-mile route through the majestic hills of the Heavens, surrounding the parishes of Thrupp and Lypiatt, with spectacular views across the Golden Valley and Rodborough Hill.
Along the way, walkers can stop to sample a tipple at two pubs serving Stroud Brewery beer. On returning to Stroud Brewery, the fun continues with the chance to relax and enjoy the England V Ireland Six Nations rugby match, shown live on the big screen from 2.10pm to 3.30pm – a perfect end to a sociable day out.
Andy who joined the Ale Amble last year said: “It’s a really good walk for a really good cause. The scenery is amazing. The best part: there’s two pubs en route and you get to watch the rugby at the end.”

Tickets cost £15 for adults and £10 for under 18s. Entry includes a free Longfield T-shirt as well as a free pint or soft drink at the end of the walk.
