Slimbridge have confirmed tonight’s game at home to Richard Joyce’s Thornbury Town will go ahead, writes Tim Blake.

A floodlight failure on Tuesday night forced their Hellenic League Premier game against Roman Glass St George to be abandoned in the 87th minute.

Roman Glass were 2-0 up but the game will be replayed at a later date.

Co-Chairman Barry Gay said: “We are grateful to Mark Coles and our former player Finlay Byrnes from Coles Electrical in Nailsworth who responded so quickly to our request for assistance, and tonight’s game will go ahead.”
