MP Siobhan Baillie is asking Stroud people to nominate an inspirational woman to be recognised for their achievements as part of celebrating International Women’s Day, today.

Friday, March 8th is an important world-wide event in the calendar and Ms Baillie is marking it by allowing local people to nominate a woman from the district who has done something special.

The achievement could be in the community or in business, in public life, the caring professions or in volunteering – the scope is wide.

“I am lucky enough to meet wonderful women doing great work in leadership roles, community work or as entrepreneurs all over Stroud district when I am out and about,” said Ms Baillie.

“I would really like to be able to show off one of these inspiring women on a national stage and highlight their achievements

“I am not just looking for those in senior roles but anyone really who is an inspiration perhaps in their work as a community worker, healthcare professional or a volunteer.

“Just get in touch telling me who you want to nominate and why.  I will sift through the entries with my team so that we can honour the women who do such brilliant things in our communities every day.”

Nominations are open until 22nd March and they can be sent to the MP at: siobhan.baillie.mp@parliament.uk
