Owners of the Five Valleys Shopping Centre have quashed rumours that Wilko and Home Bargains are set to close.

Earlier in the year, it was revealed Poundland is to close in August, leaving shoppers fearing Wilko and Home Bargains were set to become the next big name chain stores to leave town.

However, Emily Hughes, Head of Communications at Dransfield Properties Ltd, reinforced their commitment to both stores: “Both Wilko and Home Bargains have secure leases within centre and there has been no conversation between landlord and tenant to suggest otherwise. As a company, we have long-standing, positive relationships with both Wilko and Home Bargains and they remain great assets to our company portfolio.”

A Wilko spokesperson added: “We love meeting and serving all our customers at Wilko in Stroud and are committed to the town and look forward to welcoming them for years to come.”
