A popular Nailsworth bakery and coffee shop is opening a second business in Cheltenham.

The Happy Cinnamon Artisan Bakery in Market Street, Nailsworth opened last August and is run by Flora Ekla, along with her mum, Anita Hlopkane Szijgyarto and step-dad Tamas Hlopka.

Remaining rooted in Nailsworth, the extra premises will allow the baking side of the business to expand.

Flora told Stroud Times: “Our plan is to move the baking operation to Cheltenham since the new premises is much bigger, and then deliver all the fresh goods every morning to Nailsworth. We want to keep Nailsworth as a cosy, welcoming spot—not just for our baked treats and excellent coffee, but as a community hub with things like book swap shelves and a relaxed atmosphere where people can hang out.

“Cheltenham won’t just be a baking space—it will also operate as a café. Very soon, we’re hoping to apply for an alcohol license for both locations, so we can introduce some Hungarian wines and host events such as sip and paint nights, workshops with local artists, and more. We’re open to all kinds of collaborations.

“Just to — emphasise we’re not closing or abandoning the Nailsworth shop; it will definitely remain open and continue to be an important part of the Happy Cinnamon family.”
