A show that is the very staple of Stroud is set to return for its 155th year.
The event, which celebrates the arts, crafts, skills and produce of the Stroud communities, will take place on Saturday, July 12 at Stratford Park.
Visitors can participate in the legendary brick and rolling pin throwing contest, welly wanging, and a short story competition.
The event starts with a parade of Shire horses. The arena will host a variety of performances, including from the Rock Choir and Stroud Red Band.
Local bands competing for a spot at Chalfest, featuring appearances from Dirt Basement, A Streetcar Named Desire, Makeshift, Small Dog Big Stick, Hartstroke, and 2024’s winners Loophole.
A new addition to the line-up is a performance from Magic Wizardry.
Children will have plenty to keep them entertained with a funfair, an arts competition, face painting, balloons and bubbles.
Professor Collywobbles will also be back with his Punch and Judy show throughout the afternoon.
There will also be a dog show run by the Teckels Rescue Centre.
A mixture of older and more modern cars, trucks and tractors will be on display.
The vehicles are owned by local people and many of them will be by their exhibits to answer any questions.
There is also a handicrafts and horticulture tent, which offers the chance for people to showcase their creativity and gardening skills, with categories including vegetables, flowers, arts and crafts, pottery, stained glass, willow weaving, photography and baking.
The show, which is entirely run by volunteers, is calling for more people to help out. For those interested in participating, entry forms can be downloaded from the Stroud Show website.
Anyone able to spare a few hours to assist with setting up and taking down the site, organising, or any other tasks, is encouraged to get in touch via Facebook or email at stroudshow@gmail.com.
The show will open to the public at noon, with gates opening at 11.30am.
The admission fee is £1 per family.
