Former Forest Green League Two title winner Ebou Adams is on the brink of a move from Derby County to Portsmouth, according to Football Insider writer Pete O’Rourke.
Adams, 30, is now set to put pen to paper on a deal to bolster John Mousinho’s midfield engine room.
He joined Forest Green Rovers from Ebbsfleet United in 2019 under former manager Mark Cooper. He went on to help Rovers win the League Two title in 2022 under Rob Edwards, working alongside current Portsmouth sporting director Richard Hughes, before joining Cardiff City on a three-year deal in the summer of 2022.
O’Rourke claims Pompey’s bid for a player, who has 18 months left on his Pride Park contract, has been accepted.
Derby’s player of the year last season, Adams has been a key player for the Rams following his move from Cardiff, initially on loan, in January 2024 before sealing a permanent move in the summer of 2024 for £500,000.
The Gambia international made 42 league starts last season and scored six goals as Derby finished 19th.
