The February Antiques and Interiors sale at Wotton Auction Rooms saw some spectacular results. The three-day sale featured almost 2,500 lots including ceramics, jewellery, furniture, horology, watches and fine art.
The sale featured a large amount of Chinese porcelain, with a large 19th century blue and white porcelain bottle vase sold for £1,600, and in a separate lot a blue and white porcelain jar with a ‘Shou’ carved wooden cover, realised £850 plus fees.

Many items of jewellery attracted high prices, such as an intricate plique-a-jour bangle bracelet mounted with peridot, amethyst and other gemstones fetched £2,800. A pair of Chinese bronze censers, 14cm in diameter and believed to be from the Qing Dynasty, sold for £900.
There were more than 100 watches in the sale from famous brands such as Tudor, Longines and Rolex with a vintage 18-carat gold Omega wristwatch going under the hammer for £2,900.

Auctioneer Joseph Trinder said: “We enjoyed a hugely busy and popular three-day antique and interiors sale this February. In the online age, it is so pleasing to see so many of our clients still visiting in person to view the sale, we always love to see the carpark full.
“We were delighted with results achieved across all departments and look forward to our March 24th fine and curated sale and our 8th and 9th April antique and interiors sale culminating in the ever-popular garden and reclamation sale on April 10th – we are accepting entries to all of these sales now.”
Wotton Auction Rooms is now consigning for its Spring Quarterly Fine and Curated Sale on Tuesday March 24th. For more details click here.
