Players from Brimscombe & Thrupp AFC are preparing to take on a thrilling 15,000ft skydive in a fundraising effort that will benefit both the football club and a charity dedicated to supporting mental health and emotional wellbeing.
The skydive, organised by the club’s Bar Manager, Paul Day, will take place on Friday 3 July from Old Sarum Airfield in Salisbury. A number of players will be taking part, challenging themselves to leap from 15,000 feet in support of two important causes.
Funds raised will contribute towards ongoing ground improvements at the Meadow, helping the club continue to develop its facilities for players, supporters and the wider community. A proportion of the proceeds will also be donated to the Red Horse Foundation, a local charity that provides equine-assisted therapy for individuals experiencing mental health challenges, trauma and emotional wellbeing difficulties.
The initiative reflects Brimscombe & Thrupp AFC’s commitment not only to improving its own facilities but also to supporting organisations that make a meaningful difference within the local community.
“This is a huge challenge for the lads, but it’s all for two fantastic causes,” said Paul Day. “We’re looking forward to raising as much as possible to help improve the Meadow and support the incredible work carried out by the Red Horse Foundation.”
The club is encouraging supporters, businesses and members of the community to get behind the fundraising effort. Every donation, regardless of size, will help make a positive impact.
