From Tuscany to The Corner House: Marco celebrates six months at the helm

The man behind The Corner House is celebrating six months as owner of the popular restaurant after an 11-year journey from Tuscany to Gloucestershire.

Marco Pancetti first arrived in the UK 11 years ago from the small village of Foresto, in Garfagnana, Tuscany, to pursue a career as a pizza chef.

It was a move that would ultimately change his life in more ways than one. While working in the restaurant trade, Marco met Kat, who would go on to become the mother of his children.

Marco has been at the heart of The Corner House since the restaurant first opened its doors in 2017, but six months ago he took the biggest step yet by officially taking over the business.

And while the past six months have been demanding, Marco says he has no regrets.

“It’s been a full-on six months and full of surprises, but I’m very happy to have done this,” he said.

Having spent almost a decade running the restaurant, Marco has a clear vision for its future.

“The plan for the future is to bring it back to where I know we belong,” he said.

For Marco, that future is about building on the restaurant’s place within the community while continuing to work alongside the staff and customers who have supported The Corner House over the years.

He added: “I would like to thank all the support I’ve received from my staff and all our customers.

“There’s still plenty to do, but I’m very excited about the future and what we can achieve together.”

From a small village in the mountains of Tuscany to becoming the owner of a local restaurant, Marco’s journey has come a long way from the decision he made 11 years ago to come to the UK and work as a pizza chef.

Now, six months into the next chapter of his career, he is determined to ensure The Corner House has a future to match its history.
