A Gloucestershire aviation charity is offering local children and young people the chance to experience a British Airways Airbus A350 simulator when it visits Gloucestershire Airport on Wednesday, October 28.
fly2help, which is based at Gloucestershire Airport, has a limited number of free places available through its Air Smiles programme.
Air Smiles creates special aviation experiences for children and young people who are dealing with significant challenges in their lives, including illness, disability, SEND, bereavement and other difficult circumstances.
The British Airways Airbus A350 simulator will give participants the opportunity to step into the world of aviation and enjoy a memorable experience at their local airport.
Carly Bauert, Charity Manager at fly2help, said:
“We are incredibly excited to be able to offer this opportunity to local children and young people. Having a British Airways Airbus A350 simulator here at Gloucestershire Airport is something very special, and we would love to make sure these places reach families who could really benefit from having something exciting and positive to look forward to.
“Our Air Smiles programme is all about creating happy memories, building confidence and giving children and their families a day where the focus is simply on having a wonderful experience together.”
Places are completely free, but they are limited.
fly2help is particularly keen to hear from families, schools and organisations supporting children and young people who may benefit from the experience.
Families interested in being considered for a place are encouraged to contact fly2help with a little information about the child or young person, including their age and the challenges they have faced.
The charity is also asking schools, SEND organisations, family support services and community groups across Gloucestershire to help share the opportunity with families they feel may benefit.
The event forms part of fly2help’s wider Air Smiles programme, which uses aviation to create positive experiences for children, young people and families facing challenging circumstances.
