It’s that time of year again to register for the popular Yard Trail – Stroud’s biggest community event.

The deadline to book your spot is August 8 for the the popular event.

The Yard Trail Stroud promises a delightful adventure that sparks curiosity, conversations, and brings communities together.

This year the event makes a welcome return to Yard Trail HQ at Trainspotters Ltd on Libby’s Drive – just off Slad Road. Trainspotters yard will be the place to grab a bargain and enjoy music and food.

The event pulls people together to buy, sell or give away anything and everything from clothes, furniture and bric-a-brac to artwork and plants.

Taking place in front and back gardens across the district, the community spectacular gets underway on Bank Holiday Monday, August 25th from 10am – 2pm.

The Crown and Sceptre, Stroud Brewery, Stroud Rugby Club, Stroud Trinity Rooms and Stroud Valley Scouts will also prove to be popular venues for shoppers to look around.

Started in 2017 by Victoria Ashcroft, the aim is to connect people to their neighbours, keep landfill to a minimum and enable anyone who wants to follow the map on the day to pick up a bargain.

The founder of Yard Trail, Victoria Ashcroft said: “Being a lover of second-hand goods and the community makes this event so special.

“It’s a way to be part of something amazing, but in an easy way, just set up a stall in your front garden or garage. I love how Stroud becomes alive for the day, people carrying away arms full of items, some with stories of their past.

Yard Trail would like to thank Transition Stroud, Peter Joy Estate agents and CR Signs for their support.

“The flag of St George should unite us, not divide us” – Stroud MP Dr Simon Opher

I have always been drawn to the flag of St George. Its bold simplicity — a blood-red cross on a white background — is instantly recognisable, and its history connects England to Milan, Georgia, Barcelona and Jerusalem.
