Police have released an image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with an assault earlier this month.

It follows a report that a man was attacked outside his home following an argument with cyclists in the Cotswolds.

The incident happened shortly before 11.30am on Tuesday 1 July, when a man driving in the Moreton-in-Marsh area spoke to two cyclists.

Following a disagreement between them, the cyclists followed the man home where one of the men grabbed the victim by the throat after he had gotten out of his car.The two cyclists left after a neighbour came to the victim’s aid.

The suspect was described as being a white man, 6ft in height, and of an athletic build. He was wearing a white cycling helmet, black shorts, glasses, and black and white trainers. His bike was white with black tyres.

The second suspect was also a white man, 6ft in height and of an athletic build. He had black hair and was wearing black Lycra; his bike was red, yellow and green in colour.

Following the assault, the victim was left with grazes to his arm and marks to his throat, as well as being shaken up by the incident.

Officers have conducted a number of enquiries and are now appealing to the public for help in identifying a man in connection with the attack.

Anyone who recognises the man in the image or has any information about the incident is asked to contact Gloucestershire Police through the website, quoting incident 183 of 1 July: https://www.gloucestershire.police.uk/contact/af/contact-us/us/a-crime-that-has-already-been-reported/
